Overview

This amud opens with the last line of a ברייתא, which reads the פסוק about not delaying vows as also covering לקט, שכחה and פאה. The גמרא then asks whether יד, a half-finished statement, works for צדקה. An example is someone who says 'this coin is for צדקה' and then, about a second coin, says only 'and this.' The question depends on how far the link between צדקה and קרבנות goes. The גמרא asks the same question about הפקר. It objects that this is the same as the צדקה question. It answers that the הפקר question is a follow-up: assuming יד works for צדקה, perhaps הפקר is different because it is open to rich people too. רבינא asks the same kind of question about setting aside a room as a בית הכסא. The גמרא explains that he asked one question inside another: first whether זימון works at all, then whether יד works. That question remains unanswered. Finally, on the משנה's case of 'מנודה אני לך', אביי says even רבי עקיבא gives no מלקות. רב פפא then names two wordings that everyone agrees on and asks where the real argument lies, which is answered on the next amud.
