Partial הפרה of a woman's נזירות: אין נזירות לחצאין and אין קרבן לחצאין
Overview
The amud opens at the end of a ברייתא about a woman who took a נדר of נזירות: if her husband cancelled it without her knowing, she gets no מלקות even when she drinks wine. The גמרא uses this to challenge the view that a husband can cancel only the part of a vow that causes his wife suffering. Under that view, grape seeds and skins should stay forbidden and bring lashes. רב יוסף answers that נזירות cannot be split into parts. אביי rewords this as: neither נזירות nor its קרבן comes in halves. A ברייתא then challenges אביי: a woman whose נזירות was cancelled still brings a bird חטאת. The גמרא answers that a half-נזירות קרבן would need three animals, so the bird חטאת must come for another reason: a חטאת can be brought on a doubt. Finally, a new challenge against רבי יוחנן's rule of partial הפרה begins, using a woman who became טמא during her נזירות, and it continues on the next amud.
