Overview

This daf first finishes a discussion about a נזירה whose husband nullified her vow. The גמרא asks whether he could really have nullified only the painful wine part and not the טומאת מת part, since the ברייתא frees her from the offerings of an impure נזיר. It answers that avoiding the dead is also painful, because רבי מאיר teaches that whoever eulogizes, weeps for and buries others will receive the same. Then a new משנה begins. A woman who vows not to benefit from people cannot have the vow nullified by her husband, but she may still take לקט, שכחה and פאה. A vow forbidding כהנים and לוים in general does not stop them from taking their gifts. A vow against specific ones sends the gifts to others. The גמרא then asks whether a husband counts as one of the 'people' in her vow. עולא, רבא and רב נחמן each answer differently.
