Whether a husband counts as one of the 'people' (בריות) when his wife vows not to benefit from people, and which gifts for the poor she may still use.
Overview
The גמרא continues with a woman who vowed not to benefit from 'people' (בריות). Earlier, רב נחמן had said that a husband is not counted among 'people.' רבא challenges him from a משנה about a woman who says 'I am removed from the Jews.' There the husband nullifies only his own part, which suggests he was included in her vow. רב נחמן answers that this case is different: other men are already forbidden to her, so she must have meant her husband. The גמרא then turns to the next line of our משנה, which lets her use לקט, שכחה and פאה. It notes that the משנה leaves out מעשר עני, even though a ברייתא includes it. רב יוסף answers that the ברייתא follows רבי אליעזר, and the משנה follows the רבנן. His source is a משנה where רבי אליעזר says one need not even name the מעשר עני of דמאי. The גמרא explains on the next amud how this ruling connects to her vow.
