Two people with the same name (a loan document, a found גט, the sesame case) and the wife's 'quarrel' that makes her report of her husband's death unreliable

Overview

The גמרא first defends אביי, who worries that two people may share a name. It shows that a שטר חוב held by one of two men with the same name is still collected by the holder, because in every realistic scenario the document is his. Then it tells of a גט found in סורא from 'ענן בר חייא of נהרדעא'. Witnesses placed the only other man with that name in נהרדעא on that day. אביי says that even by his own view there is no worry here. רבא says that even by his view there is a worry, since the man could have travelled quickly or sent instructions, just as scribes write the place where they actually are. The גמרא then rules on an earlier sesame case: the הלכה is חיישינן, we are concerned. Finally it turns to the משנה's 'quarrel' between husband and wife. It defines the quarrel as a wife who claimed she was divorced in front of named witnesses, and they denied it. It then asks why a quarrel makes her report of his death unreliable. רב חנינא says she might lie, and רב שימי בר אשי says she might speak from guesswork. The difference between their reasons is explained on the next amud.
