בר קפרא's mistake about איסור כולל and בת אחת cases, the זר serving on שבת, and the משנה of brides accidentally switched at the חופה.

Overview

The גמרא finishes explaining בר קפרא's mistake. רבי taught him that, according to רבי שמעון, a person is exempt from a second prohibition in איסור כולל cases. בר קפרא then mixed in the case of a זר who ate a מליקה bird, which is a בת אחת case, and wrongly decided that every case carried an exemption. A ברייתא about a זר serving on שבת leaves out the מליקה case, which shows that even רבי שמעון holds a person liable twice in a בת אחת case, so בר קפרא is refuted. The גמרא then asks which service the זר in that ברייתא did on שבת. רב אחא בר יעקב answers that it was the כהן גדול's bull. רב אשי answers that the ברייתא only counts prohibitions, which matters for burial among the completely wicked. A new משנה follows about two brides switched at the חופה, listing the prohibitions involved and what happens to the women afterward. The גמרא then shows from the משנה itself that the switch happened by accident (הוּחְלְפוּ), as רב יהודה said.

And bar Kappara saw the case of a non-priest who ate a pinched bird,

וְאַיְּידֵי דְּדָמְיָא לַהּ —

and since it resembled those cases,
