Whether an ערל may eat מעשר שני, רבי יצחק's 'ממנו' גזירה שוה, and the source that all טמאים are barred from תרומה.
Overview
The גמרא asks whether an ערל (an uncircumcised man) may eat מעשר שני. It first shows that a תנא's list is not always complete, so leaving the ערל out of a list proves nothing. Several ברייתות are then brought as proofs. Each is pushed off: the מעשר they mention could be מעשר ראשון following רבי מאיר, or the ברייתא follows רבי עקיבא, who treats an ערל like a טמא. Next the גמרא shows that רבי יצחק forbids an ערל from eating מעשר through a גזירה שוה on the word 'ממנו', shared by פסח and מעשר. To make that comparison hold, the גמרא shows that 'ממנו' is extra in the פסוקים, explaining every 'ממנו' by פסח and by מעשר, including ריש לקיש's teaching that impure מעשר שני may be used for anointing. Finally, the גמרא moves to the משנה's rule that all טמאים may not eat תרומה and begins רבי ישמעאל's source, which continues on the next עמוד.
