The פסוקים about a טמא person and holy food, the touching rule for תרומה, and the laws of a פצוע דכא

Overview

The amud opens by finishing a discussion of the פסוקים about a טמא person eating holy food. The גמרא shows that three separate פסוקים about תרומה are all needed. 'עד אשר יטהר' requires טבילה, 'ובא השמש' requires sunset, and 'עד מלאת' teaches that one need not wait for a קרבן כפרה. It then explains why both the יולדת and the זב need a פסוק about waiting for atonement before eating קדשים. Next, רבי זירא and a ברייתא teach that after טבילה but before nightfall, a person or vessel is already pure for מעשר but still makes תרומה impure by touching. A second source for this touching rule comes from 'בכל קדש לא תגע', read through a הקש to the מקדש. The גמרא then turns to the משנה about a פצוע דכא. רבי אלעזר and רבי יוחנן argue over whether his wife may eat תרומה because she 'already ate' before his injury. Finally, a ברייתא defines who counts as a פצוע דכא, and a man with one testicle is ruled כשר, like a סריס חמה. The amud ends as the גמרא begins challenging the punctured case with a story that continues on the next amud.

Opening lines

וְהָכְתִיב: ״בְּכׇל קֹדֶשׁ לֹא תִגָּע״ —

But isn't it written: 'She shall touch no holy thing'

לְרַבּוֹת [אֶת] הַתְּרוּמָה!

— to include תרומה!

אֶלָּא, קְרָא מִילֵּי מִילֵּי קָא חָשֵׁיב.

Rather, the verse counts separate matters one by one.

וּתְלָתָא קְרָאֵי בִּתְרוּמָה לְמָה לִי?

And why do I need three verses about תרומה?
