Is a woman who remarried by mistake excused because 'what could she have done?' (מאי הוה לה למיעבד), and why רב פפא did not rely on it in practice

Overview

This amud continues the discussion of a woman who remarried by mistake. רבינא explains that a ברייתא's labels 'deliberate' and 'accidental' are only about whether she brings a קרבן. A second answer says that ברייתא follows the רבנן and rereads its exception clause. Then עולא, רב שימי בר אשי, אביי, רבא, רב אשי and רבינא each bring a source where a woman who remarried in good faith still gets all the penalties. Each time they ask: why not excuse her with 'what could she have done?' Each time the גמרא answers that she could have avoided the mistake, either by waiting or by having the גט read. רב פפא wanted to rule leniently based on this excuse. רב הונא בריה דרב יהושע told him not to rely on so many answers, and רב פפא held back. Finally, רב אשי says we ignore a rumor, and the גמרא begins asking which rumor he means. That discussion continues on the next amud.

it is like a deliberate sin of a man with a woman,
