What the כהנים wore during the פייס, the layout of לשכת הגזית, and the jobs of the second פייס
Overview
The גמרא continues the debate about what the כהנים wore during the פייס. A משנה about removing the כהנים' clothes turns out to fit both views. רב ששת then brings a ברייתא in which the ממונה removes a מצנפת from a כהן's head. The גמרא rejects that proof, because a כהן can own a privately made priestly-style garment. From the same ברייתא, אביי proves that לשכת הגזית was half in קודש and half in חול, with one door to each side. A new משנה then lists the thirteen jobs given out by the second פייס, and בן עזאי gives a different order for bringing the limbs. The גמרא asks whether there was one draw or a separate draw for each job. A proof from 'four פייסות' is rejected, and the question continues on the next amud.
Opening lines
What, is it not about those who won the lottery?
Rav Huna bar Yehuda said that Rav Sheshet said:
No, it is about those who did not win the lottery.
So too, it is reasonable.
