The order of the daily Temple service: אביי's sequence from the תמיד to the בזיכין, the dispute over מוספין and בזיכין, and the placement of the morning and afternoon קטורת.
Overview
This amud finishes אביי's list of the order of the Temple service, giving a reason for each link. The תמיד של שחר comes first, followed by its מנחה, then the חביתין, the נסכים, the מוספין, and finally the בזיכין. A ברייתא puts the בזיכין before the מוספין, and the גמרא answers that this is a מחלוקת תנאים. אביי argues that his side is more logical, because "ביום ביום" teaches that the בזיכין are pushed later. The other side learns the בזיכין from the חביתין through the shared word "חוקה." It still uses "ביום ביום" to delay them until after the נסכים. The גמרא then returns to the משנה and explains that the morning קטורת came between the blood and the limbs. This follows רבנן, even though the משנה leaves the lamps out. רבי יוחנן derives from a פסוק that the afternoon קטורת comes before the נסכים, but not before the limbs. A ברייתא then teaches that the morning תמיד learns its נסכים from the afternoon one.

״וְעָרַךְ עָלֶיהָ הָעוֹלָה״,
"And he shall arrange the burnt-offering upon it"
וְאָמַר רָבָא:
and Rava said:
״הָעוֹלָה״ — הִיא עוֹלָה רִאשׁוֹנָה.
