Overview

This amud is about who gets the hides of קרבנות. A ברייתא teaches that the כהנים get the hide of an עולה, and asks how we know they also get the hides of all קדשי קדשים. The first opinion learns it from the extra words 'אשר הקריב' and limits it to קדשי קדשים. רבי ישמעאל learns it from a קל וחומר, and רבי says no proof is needed, because the hide always follows the meat. Only the עולה, which is skinned and burned, needs a פסוק for its hide, and a טבול יום, a מחוסר כיפורים and an אונן get no share. The גמרא then explains how each opinion uses the words of the פסוק, including רבי ישמעאל's גזירה שוה about the bones of the עולה. A new משנה rules that a hide goes to the כהנים only if the offering became פסול after flaying. It also records רבי עקיבא and the חכמים arguing about a בכור found to be a טריפה. Finally, the גמרא asks whether the two משניות follow רבי or רבי אלעזר ברבי שמעון. אביי and רבא give opposite answers, and רבא's answer continues on the next amud.
