Where and how the burned offerings are burned, then the new פרק on slaughtering and offering up outside the עזרה and the source for its warning.
Overview
The amud opens by finishing a derivation that the burned bulls and goats are burned east of ירושלים. It then asks where the רבנן burn them. A ברייתא answers: north of ירושלים, outside the three camps, while רבי יוסי הגלילי requires the בית הדשן. רבא says רבי אליעזר בן יעקב disagrees with him, because he reads 'שפך הדשן' as a sloped place. אביי replies that maybe he requires both ashes and a slope. A ברייתא then teaches that only someone who helps during the actual burning makes his clothes טמא, and that this stops once the animals become ash. רבי שמעון says it stops once the flesh is burned away, and רבא explains that the two views differ over a charred lump. Then פרק טבול יום ends, and a new משנה rules that one who slaughters and offers up a קרבן outside is liable for each act, with רבי יוסי הגלילי disagreeing. The parallel case of a טמא person eating קדשים follows. The גמרא then searches for the אזהרה against slaughtering outside. It finds ״ולא יזבחו עוד״, defends it with רבה's double reading, and begins a new challenge from a ברייתא that continues on the next amud.
