This amud finishes the משנה about which acts done outside the עזרה make a person חייב. רבי אלעזר adds pouring the סוכות water libation, and רבי נחמיה adds offering the leftover blood. The גמרא first quotes רבא, who says רבי אלעזר agrees that even one sprinkling of blood done outside makes one חייב. The proof is רבי אלעזר's ruling about the יום כיפור sprinklings: if they are interrupted, the כהן גדול picks up from where he stopped. Next, רבי יוחנן says רבי אלעזר's water ruling follows רבי עקיבא, who learns ניסוך המים from the plural ״ונסכיה״. ריש לקיש objects that the water should then copy wine's rules, which are three לוגין and all year round. The גמרא answers with a teaching, given in רבי יוחנן's own name, that ניסוך המים is a הלכה למשה מסיני with its own rules.
