Which פסול items stay on the מזבח once they went up: ריש לקיש's chart, the משנה of 'אם עלו לא ירדו', and the ברייתא's source from "זאת תורת העולה"
Overview
This amud finishes ריש לקיש's chart of which פסול מנחות and נסכים stay on the מזבח once they went up, according to רבן גמליאל, רבי יהושע, רבי שמעון and the others. The גמרא asks why such a chart was needed. It answers that the chart shows a מנחה can come by itself, like רבא's rule. The chart also shows that נסכים brought on a later day, after their animal, still count as coming with the זבח. Then a new משנה lists פסול offerings that are not taken down once on the מזבח. רבי יהודה and רבי שמעון disagree about three more cases. רבי שמעון's rule is that a problem which began in holiness is accepted by the מזבח, while animals that were unfit from the start come down. The משנה adds that whatever came down is not brought back up, and a live animal always comes down. The גמרא then brings a ברייתא showing how רבי יהודה and רבי שמעון each read the פסוק "זאת תורת העולה". It begins to explain why one group is included and the other left out, and that answer continues on the next amud.
