Whether one who offers outside the עזרה an animal that was invalidly slaughtered inside (at night) is liable, and עולא's rule about אימורים of קדשים קלים placed on the מזבח before זריקת הדם

Overview

This amud opens by finishing רבי יוחנן's argument: someone who slaughters an animal at night and offers it outside is liable, because his case is no better than slaughtering and offering outside. רב חייא בר אבין challenges him from a משנה that exempts someone who slaughters a bird inside and offers it outside. The גמרא calls this a תיובתא, then adds that a bird slaughtered inside may count as simply killed. Next, עולא rules that אימורים of קדשים קלים put on the מזבח before זריקת הדם do not come down, because they have become the 'bread of the מזבח'. רבי זירא tries to prove this from the משנה's list, but the גמרא limits that list to קדשי קדשים and explains the פסח there as slaughtered שלא לשמן. A second proof, from 'all of them that went up alive come down', is also pushed off: that line is about live animals with a small eye blemish, following רבי עקיבא. This raises a question about the משנה's next clause, which says an עולה slaughtered on top of the מזבח is flayed and cut there. The גמרא explains that clause in two ways, depending on whether flaying on top of the מזבח is allowed. It ends by explaining why the innards are taken down and rinsed: so they are not offered with their dung.
